Dr. Wendy Hauser

Wendy Hauser, DVM is the founder of Peak Veterinary Consulting and has practiced for 30+ years as an associate veterinarian, veterinary hospital owner/doctor & operator, and as a relief veterinarian. She also has worked in the animal health industry as a pet health insurance executive and as a technical services veterinarian.

She is highly engaged as a volunteer leader. She served the American Animal Hospital Association as a member of the Board of Directors, as the Board Vice-President, and as the AAHA Delegate to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) House of Delegates. She serves the AVMA as a member of the Veterinary Economic Strategy Committee.

Dr. Hauser is passionate about education and innovation, and she regularly provides consulting for both industry partners and individual veterinary hospitals. She regularly presents at veterinary conferences, facilitating workshops on hospital culture, associate development, leadership, client relations, and operations. In addition, she has published more than 100 expert articles, and co-authored “The Veterinarian’s Guide to Healthy Pet Plans.

Debra Vey Voda-Hamilton

Principal, Hamilton Law and Mediation

Debra Hamilton is principal at Hamilton Law and Mediation, where she specializes in helping veterinary practices navigate conflicts and maintain compliance through conscious communication. As an integrative lawyer and mediator, she resolves disputes between people over animals while teaching veterinary professionals essential conflict resolution skills.

Hamilton serves on the NOMV, SVME, and AVMLA boards, where she hosts the monthly member meeting. She has spoken at veterinary conferences worldwide, emphasizing how conscious conversations with clients and staff can diffuse dangerous situations and create peaceful practice environments. Her approach helps veterinary teams recognize clients as integral partners, using transparency to ensure everyone feels valued.

Media outlets, including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Reuters, regularly consult Hamilton on animal-related mediation matters. She authored the Amazon bestseller Nipped in the Bud, Not in the Butt: How to Use Mediation to Resolve Conflicts over Animals and co-authored Onward and Upward: A Guide for Getting Through New York Divorce & Family Law Issues. Hamilton is also a nationally recognized breeder of Irish setters and longhaired standard dachshunds.


Mark Massaro, DVM

Dr. Mark Massaro was born and raised in south Jersey and comes from a family of veterinarians. His parents have owned and operated Village Veterinary Hospital in Medford, NJ for over 30 years, where his older brother now serves as head veterinarian. Like Dr. Torre, he graduated from Shawnee High School, and then went on to earn his Bachelors in Biology with Honors from the University of Richmond in Virginia. Following college he attended the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine where he earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. 

After graduating from vet school, Dr. Massaro completed a rigorous rotating internship in small medicine and surgery at the Center for Animal Referral and Emergency Services (CARES) in Bucks County, PA, which is now one of the greater Philadelphia BluePearl Pet Hospitals. Following internship Dr. Massaro joined the family practice, where he served as an Associate Veterinarian, as well as the Marketing and Technology Lead.

Dr. Massaro’s interests in the veterinary management / technology world grew and he then took on a series of roles at different companies, spanning from remote work in NJ to on-site positions in Philadelphia, Houston, TX and Knoxville, TN. All of these roles centered around advancing technology in the veterinary industry, specifically relating to electronic medical record (EMR) or practice management systems (PMS).

Now returning home to south Jersey, Dr. Massaro is thrilled to take on the role of Director of Medical Software and Training Mentor. He is super excited to bring his knowledge and passion for both clinical work and technology to the teams at vetmEDUcate, across our multiple hospitals. Outside of work Dr. Massaro’s interests include playing sports (soccer, basketball, tennis, volleyball), as well as hanging out and hiking with his wife Carolyn and their 3 dogs (Treeing Walker Coonhound, Miniature Poodle, and Texas Street Pitbull) and 2 cats (only the dogs hike, but not for lack of trying!).


Andrea Crabtree, BS, CVPM, SPHR, PHRca, CCFP

Owner and Consultant , FurPaws Consulting

Andrea is a Southern California native and was raised in San Dimas. She graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a BS in Animal Health Science in 2004. She became a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager in 2011, received her Professional in Human Resources in 2016, California Professional in Human Resources in 2017, accomplished both her Certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources and Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional in 2019. She is also Fear Free Certified. In January of 2016 Andrea received the Southern California VMA Paraprofessional of the Year Award. She is currently the owner of FurPaws Consulting in Orange, CA where she works with practice owners and hospital managers to develop their team as well as to expand and develop their business. 

When Andrea is not busy in a veterinary practice, she can be found speaking at veterinary events, doing what she loves – teaching, coaching and training. She has presented at The North Orange County, South Orange County, Los Angeles – South Bay, and San Diego Manager’s Group Meetings, as well as California Veterinary Specialist Veterinary Spring Forum. She has lectured at the VCA AVCC Annual Wet Lab, ASEC’s Annual Symposium and the FurPaws Training Symposiums.

Andrea along with her co-host, David Liss, MBA, CVPM, RVT-VTS host the PAWsitive Leadership Podcast. They interview guests to elevate veterinary leaders by sharing relevant content, material, guidelines, instruction, feedback and pro tricks and tips. They deliver real-life experience, along with super smart guests, that will get you through the obstacles you are facing. 

She has also published in Veterinary Team Brief, Idexx Practice Life, Veterinary Practice News, and the SD VMA. Her passion for veterinary medicine also keeps her busy with Southern California VMA events and the Manager’s Group in Orange County she co-founded, the SoCal Veterinary Manager’s Network and is currently the Treasurer. She is a member of Southern California VMA, VHMA, and VetPartners, where she Chairs the Ethics Committee. 

Andrea lives in Orange with her newlywed husband, Andrew, son John, two cats, a dog and her horse. She loves professional football and the Green Bay Packers have been her favorite team since she was four years old. She is active and loves to hike and horseback ride. Her other favorite pastimes include going to Disneyland and reading novels. She became a member at St. John’s iLutheran Church in Orange in 2008, where she met and then married her husband there in 2016.

As a licensed veterinary technician and former veterinary hospital owner, Ellen brings an unparalleled depth of insight into the operational and financial needs of veterinary practices.

She currently leads EF Advising & Bookkeeping for Veterinarians, where she empowers veterinary professionals to gain greater control of their businesses through expert bookkeeping and strategic advising. Ellen specializes in helping practice owners achieve a balance between profitability and personal well-being, offering tailored support that allows them to focus on exceptional patient care while their business thrives.

Previously, Ellen co-founded and managed At Home Veterinary Care, a successful small animal hospital in Maine that grew from a mobile clinic to a full-scale facility under her leadership. Her hands-on experience managing financial operations and staff laid the foundation for her transition into full-time advisory work.
